Thermistors

NTC 5K ohm temperature sensors. Macon models typically are short one or two Thermistors, most often because the indoor unit does not have 2 sensors meant to connect to the outdoor unit for Outdoor Ambient Air temp, and Condensor Fan Coil temp. Missing sensors will produce an error message. The fix is to include or mail out sensors to Dealers in advance. Dealers should have a few spares in any case. It should be one thermistor for Outdoor Air, and a NTC 5K resistor to give a constant read for the non-existent fan coil because it does not need to fluctuate or be monitored.

Missing Thermistors
Dealers should be sent a few thermistors, and should stock a few for servicing. Mail one thermistor for Outdoor Air, plus a resistor for Outdo...

Resistor NTC 5K Ohm
The NTC 5K resistor is like a short wire that gives a steady 5000 ohm resistance value, which equates to 77 degrees F according to the Macon PCB. The pla...
