All Macon assembled SP2.2 models made before February 2015 were shipped with European threads that do not fit our standard pipes. The G1" is a BSP thread from England and Europe, that needs a NPT thread adapter to be compatible with off the shelp plumbing parts in North America. After the thread size issue was discovered, it was addressed and newer late 2015 SP 2.2s arrived with the correct MPT to resolve this issue.

The solution is to send Dealers the adaptors in advance, so they can apply the brass parts as needed.

BSP is not a tapered thread like NPT, so it relies on a 1" gasket to seal against the face of the pipe.

Another supplier of BSP to FPT adapter makes a brass fitting with a thick black rubber face-sealing gasket. Some SP 2.2 were shipped with these brass fittings.

We have identified that the rubber gasket is appropriately sized 0.05" (1/20") under the brass opening size of 1.20 inch. However, if over-tightened, it could bunch up or twist causing a drip. The fix is to squirt a small amount of Silicon Sealer on the brass shoulder then rotate the gasket to squish it out towards the threads, and let it set for an hour. This will fill the 1/20" gap and eliminate that space for the gasket to get twisted up. Do not over-tighten is the key technique.
